The Bands of America Grand National Championships is recognized as the premier marching band event in the nation. Ninety bands from across America will participate, including some of the finest, most progressive bands in the activity today.

In 2008 the event moves to its new home in the new Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. The event will feature exhibition performances by the Riverside Community College Marching Tigers from Riverside, California and the Western Carolina University Pride of the Mountains from Cullowhee, North Carolina.

The field competition features 90 bands in Preliminary competition on Thursday and Friday, with 30 bands advancing to Semi-Finals during the day on Saturday. Twelve bands advance to Finals on Saturday evening.

The event also includes an Expo of more than 100 booths, Student Leadership Workshop with Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, the Indianapolis Public Schools Marching Band Tournament and other special events and clinics.
