Parade includes marching bands from Australia, UK, USA and Canada
CALGARY, Alberta (July 5, 2010) The
Calgary Stampede Parade is the most popular event of the ten-day
Calgary Stampede celebration and annually draws more than 350,000 spectators to the parade route. Marching bands from around the world will compete for $18,000 in prize money in the
2010 parade which begins at 9:00 AM (Mountain) on Friday, July 9.

The 2.8-mile parade route begins at 6th Avenue and 3rd Street SE, then travels a rectangular route counter-clockwise through the city's downtown.
There are two judging stands, both located within the first six blocks from the official start of the parade route. One stand is on the left side near
1st Street E. The other is on the right side between 3rd and 4th Streets.
Organizers are already looking ahead to 2012 when the Calgary Stampede will celebrate its centennial and will host the World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB) Championship in conjunction with Stampede.
