Drum Corps Associates units return to Rochester on Labor Day weekend

ROCHESTER, NY (August 20, 2010) — A total of 31 all-age drum and bugle corps, including Open Class, Class A and Alumni units, are registered for the annual Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Championships to be held September 3-5 in Rochester, New York. A highlight of this year's event will be an appearance by the Kidsgrove Scouts from England which is traveling to the U.S. to help celebrate the corps' 100th anniversary.

Performance order for the preliminary contests will be determined after the completion of the summer schedule. Seven more DCA-sanctioned competitions remain on the schedule from August 21 to August 28, including shows in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Minnesota, New Jersey and Connecticut. 2010 DCA World Championship Schedule

Friday, Sept. 3
• 5:30 PM I&E/Mini Corps Contest - Rochester Main Street, Riverside Convention Center & Riverside Radisson Hotel. Mini corps contest begins approximately 8:00 PM.

Saturday, Sept. 4
• 2:00 PM Preliminary Competition - Rochester Rhinos (Marina Dodge) Stadium. Featuring 23 corps.

Sunday, Sept. 5
• 10:00 AM Alumni Spectacular - Rochester Rhinos (Marina Dodge) Stadium. Featuring 8 corps.
• 5:00 PM World Championship Finals - Rochester Rhinos (Marina Dodge) Stadium. Featuring 11 Open Class and 4 Class A corps.
