All-age drum corps head to 2011 DCA World Championships


Drum Corps Associates units return to Rochester on Labor Day weekend

DCA Drum Corps Associates 2011 World Championships ROCHESTER, NY (September 1, 2011) — A total of 32 all-age drum and bugle corps, including Open Class, Class A and Alumni units, are registered for the annual Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Championships to be held September 2-4 in Rochester, New York. The weekend will also feature performances by ten "mini corps" plus dozens of individuals and small ensembles.

New this year, fans have the option to view a live webcast of the preliminary competition through the DCA Fan Network. The cost is $19.95 and the webcast will include all 21 Class A and Open Class corps competing in prelims.

2011 DCA World Championship Schedule

Friday, Sept. 2
• 5:30 PM I&E/Mini Corps Contest - Riverside Convention Center and Radisson Hotel. The Mini Corps contest featuring ten units begins at 8:25 PM.

Minnesota Brass is having a strong season and is seeded to perform last in prelims at the DCA World Championships. Saturday, Sept. 3
• 2:00 PM Preliminary Competition - Rochester Rhinos Stadium. Featuring 21 corps. Available as a live webcast on the DCA Fan Network.

Sunday, Sept. 4
• 10:00 AM Alumni Spectacular - Rochester Rhinos Stadium. Featuring 11 corps.
• 5:00 PM World Championship Finals - Rochester Rhinos Stadium. Featuring the top 10 Open Class and top 4 Class A corps from prelims.
