DCI Tour Premiere returns to movie theatres June 18, 2012

Big screen event features six of last summer's top 12 corps

MAY 31, 2012 — Fans of Drum Corps International will once again get an early-season look at the 2012 programs of top drum & bugle corps when Fathom Events and DCI present the second-annual "DCI Tour Premiere." The one-night-only event will be shown in hundreds of theatres across the United States on Monday, June 18 at 6:30 PM local time.

DCI 2012 Tour Premiere The 2012 DCI Tour Premiere will be taped at this season's kickoff event on Saturday, June 16, at the University of Akron's InfoCision Stadium in Akron, Ohio. The broadcast will give fans across the country a complete look at the debut performances of six of last summer's top 12 World Class corps.

The six corps appearing on the big screen will be the defending World Champion Cadets, Bluecoats, Cavaliers, Carolina Crown, Phantom Regiment and the Blue Stars.

"More than 23,000 drum corps fans joined us at the beginning of last summer in movie theaters for the inaugural Tour Premiere," DCI Director of Sales and Business Development John DeNovi said. "Our list of participating theaters for this year's event has grown to more than 500 locations in 48 states, which will give even more drum corps fans across the country the opportunity to share in the excitement of the fresh new drum corps season ahead of us."

A complete list of participating theaters and ticket information for the Tour Premiere is available on FathomEvents.com.

August Championship cinecast continues

In addition to the early-season "Tour Premiere," DCI's popular "Big, Loud & Live" cinecast will return for its ninth season on Thursday, August 9 beginning at 6:30 PM (Eastern). Broadcast in high definition to movie theaters nationwide, this event will capture the action live from the 2012 World Championship Prelims at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The annual "Big, Loud & Live" series continues to grow, with more than 40,000 in attendance last year at nearly 550 movie theaters nationwide. The event has allowed fans who are unable attend the World Championships to experience and enjoy the thrills and drama of the world's best drum corps at the climax of the season, from the comfort of their local movie theater.

Additional details about this year's "Big, Loud & Live" event and a complete list of participating theaters will be released in the coming months at DCI.org/cinema.
