MTV Networks seeks high school marching band for new show

Photo NEW YORK, March 6, 2008 — Is your high school marching band rockin' enough for MTV?

MTV News & Docs is casting a new show which will chronicle the inner workings and outside lives of a high school marching band. The chosen band will share their experiences of rehearsals, half-time performances, competitions and fundraisers while balancing the normal pressures of high school.

"We're looking for outgoing, interesting, diverse band members to share their lives with us," says casting director Claresa Mandola. "And a proud, dedicated school that's willing to open up their doors to our producers."

Geographic location is not an issue, and Mandola encourages inquiries from any high school band.

"Most important is the kids' personalities and stories," Mandola says. "Of the entire band, we would follow five to seven main characters most closely ... so meeting some really strong candidates in the mix on the video is key."

The approximate timeframe for the show is as follows:
• March/April 2008: Receive video applications
• May 2008: Potential casting shoots with top choices
• Mid-Summer through Fall Semester: Production begins

Interested parties should contact Mandola to discuss making a video application. Call (212) 654-4871 or send email to castingspring08@mtvstaff.com.
