Music for All and music products industry join forces to create a $75,000 new gear charity auction

VIP Package for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards among the auction items

Photo ANAHEIM, CA - A host of top musical instrument manufacturers have joined together to create the 2008 New Gear Charity Auction benefiting Music for All. The charity auction will be hosted on eBay using the eBay Giving Works program, January 17 through January 27, 2008, and will feature more than 40 items valued at $75,000.

Proceeds from the sales will be used to support the mission of Music for All to create, provide and expand positively life-changing experiences through music.

A variety of guitars, drums, winds, keyboards and accessories are up for bid, including many newly introduced items or experiences from Alvarez, Ampeg, Babicz, Crate, D'Addario, DDrum, Dana B. Goods, Dean, Drum Workshop, Evans, Fender, Gibson, Guitar Player, Hartke, Hohner, Hoshino, Ibanez, Kaman, Korg, Latin Percussion, Line 6, Loud, CF Martin, MakeMusic, Mapex, Meisel, Parker, Paul Reed Smith, Pearl, PlanetWaves, Pro-Mark, Remo, The Recording Academy, Sabian, Samson, Tama, Taylor, Vic Firth, Vox, Yamaha, Zildjian, and Zoom. Several of the instruments featured on eBay will be making their worldwide debuts at the NAMM show.

The New Gear Charity Auction includes a number of celebrity instruments and experiences. Taylor Guitars has donated THE prototype Taylor Custom Electric Guitar built by Bob Taylor and Larry Breedlove that has a one-of-a-kind inlaid pick guard that is sure to be a collectors guitar. PRS has created a "Paul Reed Smith Immersion Experience" that includes an all new PRS Mira Guitar personalized by Paul Reed Smith, as well as an all-expense paid trip for two to the Experience PRS event at the PRS Factory in September. Back by popular demand is the most prized item from last year's auction — a VIP Package for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards including passes to the post-show party.

You do not need to bid on an item to help. Individuals are encouraged to post their own items on eBay to benefit Music for All using the eBay Giving Works program. Individual sellers may designate a portion or all of the final sale price to Music for All, or they may make a donation online. Visit Music for All's support page to learn how to get involved.

"We are very gratified by the broad support we have received from our friends in the music products industry" stated Music for All's Bob Morrison. "It is a true testimonial to their concern about what is happening to music and the arts in our country that they have embraced our mission in such a meaningful and generous way."
